About The Artist

Danielle embarked on a journey to raise awareness of gender-based violence from an artistic perspective. Victims of violence are often silent, regardless of the type of violence (emotional, physical, psychological, spiritual, cultural, sexual, etc.) While undergoing that experience, most women learned to express themselves through the patterns and colors in the daily outfits that they designed and wore. It was their unique way of communicating their feelings and emotions and sending their message to the world. That became a true inspiration, driving Danielle's passion for women’s empowerment while building on her legacy to positively impact future generations of women by stopping them from slipping into the trauma of violence, gender inequality, and women's subjugation.
Danielle’s commitment expands into Diversity and Inclusion. She wants to show that there are inherent values in African heritage. Her artworks highlight the beauty of diversity. It’s part of the cultural exchange, making the world more beautiful and connected.

Danielle strongly believes that valuable cultural exchange is mutual. And that exchange offers the opportunity for more profound and prolonged commitment between people and encourages responsible global citizenry.

Danielle creates artworks full of rich layers that incorporate elements of historical textiles, objects, and text to evoke a sense of human nature and reality, with a quality of timelessness and honor to those individuals now passed, that have led the way. â€‹

From a cultural perspective, She creates artworks that highlight the beauty of diversity. It’s a part of the cultural exchange, making the world a more beautiful and connected place for everyone. Danielle uses various sewing techniques with multiple fabric patterns that she pairs with traditional and modern objects like horns, moss, cowries shells, pearls, wood, mirrors, and much more. Sometimes she adds a touch of acrylic to her artworks. In addition, She purchases some traditional raw materials from local artisans in Africa. That is one way for her to participate in the artisan economy—those who practice traditional crafts as a means to earn income and sustain their livelihoods.
